Internal Coordination and Procurement Strategy

Cyclical relationship management: Bottleneck Hunting, Performance Review, Goal Setting & Positioning, Strategy — all departments at the same table.

Internal Coordination and Procurement Strategy

Procurement cannot win on its own. This module builds cyclical relationship management, in which all departments can transparently follow what we selected and why during the selection process, and the supplier relationship is run in alignment from the tender to the end of the relationship.

What we will cover

  • Coordination of departments: Coordination of the quality, engineering, design and logistics teams in procurement processes, and transparent tracking of decisions
  • Stage one — bottleneck hunting: All departments starting the tender with bottleneck hunting
  • Stage two — supplier evaluation: Six months after delivery, supplier evaluation by each department against its own KPIs, and a joint review of the big picture
  • Stage three — positioning and direction: Deciding together, with all the data and evaluations, where the supplier stands and where we want to take the relationship
  • Procurement strategy: At the end of the three stages, building the strategy in alignment with all departments
  • A living cycle: Why the cycle is a living one, since the structure and goals of both suppliers and the company keep changing

What you will take away

After this module, procurement is defined as a role with a seat at the table where the company's strategic management decisions are made; participants have all the know-how and tools needed to take on the internal coordination role in their company.

A single Tuesday-morning session, 4 hours, hands-on; all you need to bring is your laptop. The output of the supplier classification module is used here — taking the modules in sequence is recommended.
