Benchmark & A New Perspective on Procurement
The impact of procurement on profit, maturity levels and the distinction between a price problem and a cost problem — the map of the journey.
This module redefines the position of the procurement function within the company and sets out the framework for turning procurement into a competitive advantage in changing global conditions.
What we will cover

- A new balance with AI and digital transformation: How, in a changing world, it has now become possible to achieve three of the four main parameters at the same time, and how to do it
- Procurement benchmark: What a benchmark is, how it is built and how to turn it into a reference point for procurement decisions
- The strategic importance of procurement: Procurement's direct impact on profit, and why its role within the company needs to be made visible
- Changing priorities since 2019: The shift in procurement priorities and what this data points to for procurement management
- Maturity levels: How to measure the maturity level of a procurement organisation and how to move it up to the next level
- Supplier discovery: Supplier discovery methods for reaching the best price worldwide
- Price problem: What it is, which signals reveal it and how it is solved
- Cost problem — in-depth analysis: What it is, how to separate it from a price problem, and an in-depth analysis approach that gets down to the root causes
Case study
The module closes with a cost problem case based on real data. Critical data is shared with participants, and together we work on the answer to the question "How would you solve this problem?"; the solution approaches are evaluated against the methods covered in the module.
A single Tuesday-morning session, 4 hours, hands-on; all you need to bring is your laptop. This module is the entry point to the system and establishes the language of the modules that follow — taking them in sequence is recommended.
